The Dare to Grow Conference & Trade Fair
On the 6th April 2006 a Renewable Energy Conference and Trade Fair took place in Sligo Radisson SAS providing local businesses and individuals the opportunity to learn more about the potential of renewable technologies. The Trade Fair provided over 30 exhibition stands on all current technologies including wind, hydro and solar systems and although the event was primarily developed for the business sector, everyone was welcome to attend with just under 500 delegates in attendance on the day.

The event was compèred by Mr Duncan Stewart, the renowned Irish specialist in ecological design and energy and there were a number of relevant speakers providing presentations throughout the day covering all topics relevant to the installation of small scale renewables in the west of Ireland. Both Mr Stewart and the guest speakers were available throughout the day to answer any questions which arose.

Mrs Elisabeth Lassen - Mayor of Sollefteå in Sweden

 The event was also designed to broaden the links currently associated between Sweden and Ireland. The Mayor of Sollefteå in Sweden outlined the excellent Transnational opportunities between Sweden and Ireland and a number of Swedish companies were in attendance seeking local trades people to become their successful agents and installers within Ireland.

Mr Tord Fjällström - Energidalen Manager, the Swedish Partners to the Programme also spoke of the Biomass revolution in Sweden and how Ireland could learn from this.
